Infrared Sauna

How does it work?
Natural sunlight consists of both visible and invisible light. Two forms of invisible light commonly known are Ultraviolet (UV) rays and Infrared rays. While UV rays are associated with the skin damaging properties of the sun, Infrared rays are responsible for the warmth we feel when exposed to the sun.

The True Wave full spectrum heaters are the most effective and safest infrared heaters available allowing you some of the benefits of the sun without exposing you to the harmful rays of actual sunlight. The difference between traditional and infrared saunas is how they use heat. Traditional saunas heat the air, and the hot air then heats the user. In contrast, in an infrared sauna the air temperature is less important. The infrared waves penetrate more deeply than warmed air which increases your core body temperature, heating you from within.

Our Sanctuary Full Spectrum Infrared Sauna also comes with healing Chromotherapy (colour light therapy). Each colour has its own unique benefits, you can choose from 1 of 12 colours or autocycle through them all.

Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment, or manipulation is a specific, low amplitude thrust used to correct abnormal joint motion. When a joint is not functioning properly the surrounding soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments) are also affected and can not perform optimally. This treatment helps to restore proper movement, alleviate pain and improve function.

Myofascial & Active Release

Active release is a form of movement based soft tissue therapy used to treat disorders associated with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. During this form of treatment precise, sustained pressure is placed on areas of abnormal soft tissue in combination with specific active movements. The objective of this is to correct soft tissue restrictions that cause pain and mobility issues, to optimize function in the body.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive, highly effective form of treatment that decreases pain and accelerates healing in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. During this treatment high energy acoustic (sound) waves are introduced into the painful areas of the body and tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions. This creates a series of beneficial effects: new blood vessel formation, reversal of chronic inflammation, stimulation of collagen production and dissolution of calcium build-up. Ultimately, resulting in regeneration and repair of damaged tissues, restored mobility and thus accelerated healing and recovery.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization

IASTM is a form of manual soft tissue therapy using specialized tools to help identify and treat areas of fascial restriction and abnormal tension in soft tissue structures. This process creates controlled microtrauma in the affected tissue stimulating an inflammatory response resulting in fibroblast proliferation, collagen synthesis and tissue remodelling. This form of treatment can be very beneficial for patients with inflammation, scar tissue, or adhesions resulting from injuries, repetitive/overuse movements and surgeries. Benefits of this treatment include: decreased pain and stiffness, improved range of motion, and faster recovery

Percussion Therapy

The Hypervolt delivers rapid targeted percussions at a rate of up to 3,200 percussions/minute into the muscle tissues to decrease tension and increase blood flow which helps accelerate tissue repair. Other benefits include decreased muscle pain/ stiffness/ soreness, increased ROM and flexibility and faster recovery.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a form of decompression soft tissue therapy that increases oxygenated blood flow to the affected area to promote healing and faster recovery. Benefits include: decreased pain, decreased muscle stiffness/ soreness, decreased stress and tension and improved circulation.

RockTape

Rocktape is a premium brand of kinesiology tape. Unlike conventional tape which constricts blood flow, Rocktape has 180% elasticity to stretch just like your skin allowing for full range of motion. Rocktape lifts the skin away from the muscle increasing blood flow and the amount of oxygen available to the muscles which can reduce fatigue. Rocktape can be used both for decompression, to decrease pain and inflammation or used to apply compression to promote faster recovery. Rocktape can be very beneficial for a wide variety of sports injuries, overuse injuries and postural corrections.

Prior to your visit you will receive your clinic intake forms to complete in advance. On your first appointment you will be warmly welcomed to the REVIVE Performance & Health family.

Your first appointment will be an hour-long session where we will take a detailed health history, identify your expectations & goals, perform a thorough examination, and acquire informed consent, answer questions and address any concerns you may have. From there, we will proceed to same day treatment, which will look different for everyone depending on your individual complaint. Typically treatments consist of a combination of soft tissue therapy as well as adjustments to help get you back moving and feeling your best.

We recommend wearing or bringing loose/comfortable/athletic clothing that provides your practitioner with easier access to the area of complaint. Ex: tank top for shoulder complaints or shorts for knee complaints. We want to ensure that you are comfortable and able to receive the best care possible.
